From August the 27th until the 3rd of September 2014 Combat 360X MMA Gym in Khao Lak will be playing host to a variety of top Grapplers and MMA fighters from around the globe. Gods of Grappling Khao Lak getaways has been created to give top level athletes a chance to take a break from the hustle and bustle of areas like Phuket and just come to spend a few days relaxing and training with some if the best trainers in the area.  The opening night seminar and after party was a great success and Combat 360X is now officially open!! I want to say a really big thank you to Brian Ebersole for a fantastic seminar , DJ Garry Holden for spinning some awesome tunes through the night, JW Marriott in Khao Lak for looking after our guests and to Tiger Muay Thai in Phuket for their support!! This is just the first of many events we intend to hold here at the new gym in Khao Lak so make sure you watch this space for all news!! Big thanks to everyone that came and to made last night such a great night. We look forward to seeing and training with you all again soon!!  Rafael Lopes Pinto is from Sao Paulo, Brazil. At 30 years of age he is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Blackbelt and 4 x Vale Tudo Champion currently living and training out of Phuket, Thailand since 2010. He has experience coaching and fighting in Brazil, Thailand, Malaysia, China, Oman, Iran, Switzerland and France.
With over 40 Muay Thai fights for 35 wins and 5 losses to skilled Thai opponents, Rafael has been awarded "Fight of the Night" 10 times in a row and becoming Southern Thailand Champion. Representing Brazilian Top Team and head of MMA/BJJ program at Combat360X, Khao Lak, Thailand, Rafael is passionate about his coaching and strives to develop his students Jiu Jitsu skills to their potential.  Its going to be a very busy week here this week preparing everything for the official opening.. Spent part of the weekend rushing down to Phuket to make an appearance on Live 89.5 talking to DJ Garry Holden about the new facility in Khao Lak and all things MMA, Muay Thai etc.. Got the supplement and equipment store stocked up and now just putting the finishing touches on everything. Should have the new flooring done over the next few days and we will be relocating the heavy bags once the filling has settled a bit!! Really exciting time and dont forget we are currently running daily classes and we should have some news on Yoga and Muay Thai training soon!! 
 Last week we had the pleasure of helping to produce and stage a Muay Thai demonstration for over 200 screaming Russian fans at the JW Marriott in Khao Lak. Whilst we are primarily an MMA/BJJ Gym it was a privilege and an honor to help set up this event. We put together a ring and a great pair of fighters on short notice to help the guests at the Marriott get a taste of what real Muay Thai is like in Thailand!! |
