Why Small Group Training Gets Better Results

When you're choosing a training camp, it's easy to focus on the headline numbers.
How many sessions are included?
How many people attend?
How big is the gym?
How many classes can you squeeze into your week?
But there's another number that can make a much bigger difference to your results:
How many people is your coach actually trying to coach at the same time?
At Combat 360X, we deliberately keep our training groups small.
That's not because we couldn't put more people into a class.
It's because we don't believe bigger is better when it comes to coaching.
You're A Name And Not Just Another Person in the Class
In a large group, it's easy to become one person among many.
The coach demonstrates the technique, the class starts, and everyone works through the same session.
That can be fine if you're simply looking for somewhere to exercise.
But a training retreat should be about more than that.
When you travel to La Paz to train with us, we want to know why you're here.
Are you trying to lose weight?
Improve your fitness?
Learn Muay Thai?
Prepare for a fight?
Build confidence?
Push yourself outside your comfort zone?
Or simply take a break from your normal routine and come home feeling fitter and healthier?
Your reason for being here matters because it influences how we coach you.
Small Groups Mean More Coaching
With fewer people in a session, your coach has more time to see what you're doing.
That means we can spot technical issues, make adjustments, change an exercise when necessary and give you individual feedback.
You don't have to wait for the coach to eventually get around to you.
And if something isn't working for you, we can change it.
That's particularly important in martial arts.
Two people can be doing exactly the same drill but need completely different coaching.
One person might need to work on balance.
Another might need to improve their footwork.
Someone else may need to slow down and focus on technique before adding speed or power.
In a large class, those differences can easily get missed.
In a small group, they don't.
Your Goals Come First
We aren't interested in simply getting as many people through the door as possible.
Our measure of success isn't the number of people sweating in a room.
It's the progress those people make.
If you've travelled halfway around the world to spend a week or two training, we want you to get something meaningful from that time.
That means understanding your starting point, understanding what you're trying to achieve and helping you make progress without unnecessarily beating yourself into the ground.
Sometimes that means pushing you harder.
Sometimes it means changing the exercise.
Sometimes it means taking a step back.
And sometimes the best thing you can do is recover.
Quality Over Quantity
There are plenty of places where you can turn up, follow a generic workout and leave.
That's not what we're trying to build.
Combat 360X is deliberately different.
Our retreats are designed around personalized coaching, small groups and individual goals.
We want you to feel like you're being coached rather than simply attending a class.
There's a big difference.
A class asks:
"Can you keep up with everyone else?"
Coaching asks:
"What do you need to improve?"
That's the approach we believe gets better results.
You Don't Have to Be an Athlete
Small-group coaching isn't just for experienced fighters or highly conditioned athletes.
In fact, it can be even more valuable if you're new to training.
If you're coming from a relatively inactive background, your starting point is going to be different from someone who trains every day.
You shouldn't be expected to train exactly like them.
Your training should be appropriate for you.
As you become fitter, stronger and more comfortable with the environment, we can gradually increase the workload.
That allows you to make progress without trying to do everything on day one.
We Care About What Happens After You Leave
A successful training retreat isn't measured by how exhausted you were at the end of each day.
It's measured by what you take home with you.
Maybe you lose some weight.
Maybe your fitness improves.
Maybe you learn your first Muay Thai combinations.
Maybe you discover that you're capable of much more than you thought.
Maybe you simply return home with a completely different attitude toward training.
Whatever your goal is, that's what we want to work toward.
Small Groups. Individual Attention. Better Coaching.
We could focus on getting as many people through the door as possible.
But that's not the business we're interested in building.
We'd rather have a smaller group of people who receive proper coaching, make genuine progress and leave La Paz knowing they've achieved something.
Because you're not coming to Combat 360X just to attend classes.
You're coming here to achieve a goal.
And that's what we're here to help you do.
Train hard. Train smart. Train with purpose.
